Dear Audacious You Readers,

Summer is officially here! 🤸🏾‍♂️ The new season reminds us of the impermanence of all things and that we have survived a brutal pandemic whose effects will likely reverberate for many years to come. Still, we are here and whilst we have breath, anything is possible!

LEAD WITH LESSONS LEARNED

As the world re-opens for commerce and we strive to reconstitute our lives, be mindful about leveraging lessons learned while quarantined. You’ve likely made important recalibrations and perhaps even experienced a radical transformation that offers you greater self-knowledge, peace, and purpose. As we re-emerge, lead with what matters to you now to chart the life you really want.

Here are a few perspectives to keep front and center:

  • ✓ Safety First. Remain vigilant even if you are vaccinated. We’re not out of the woods yet and the new Delta strain is rising, triggering new restrictions and concerns globally. The proverb, “[h]ealth is wealth,” seems especially appropriate during these perilous times.
  • ✓ Reconnect To & Clarify Your Life Vision. At the height of the pandemic when life dramatically upended and uncertainty suffocated the air, for what and whom did you express Gratitude?
  • When you talked to God, what were your requests?
  • What guiding beliefs and core values pulled you forward?
  • Allow the answers to remind you of what you hold sacred and gives your life meaning. If you’ve discarded old habits and habituated new practices in service of the new you, prioritize accordingly in your decision-making. Operate from your vision and values. Your learning was forged from extraordinary circumstances; make it count!
  • ✓ Re-Introduce Yourself! A year-plus is a significant chunk of time and oh my, have you grown! While you were metamorphosing, others may have similarly been undergoing their own transformations or grappling with life. As you reconnect with family and friends, don’t assume that they know who you are now or operate from familiar playbooks that may no longer be valid. Re-introduce yourself! Be intentional about communicating who you are now, what matters to you, the life you’re designing for yourself, and appropriate boundaries. Where possible, own up to any past wrongdoings and clear the air to move forward with a clean slate. And, be curious about their journeys and self-discoveries as well.
  • ✓ Money Management. Despite the massive financial disruptions and instability that the pandemic has wreaked, you’ve made smart financial choices! You’ve paid down on debts, increased your personal savings, and even budgeted expenses. Celebrate these incredible achievements and what they’ve afforded you. Going forward, carefully consider which financial habits are important to maintain and where you might need to make adjustments. When you find yourself wavering and old spending habits creep up, reconnect to the feelings you experienced when your savings and credit score trended upward! Let your newfound financial health motivate you.

As we re-emerge, re-build, and re-connect to the people and things that we love, the temptations will be aplenty! But, here’s the great news: you’ve already demonstrated a wicked ability to be disciplined and single-minded. Stay rooted in your new vision and habits and trust that in due season your harvest will be bountiful. Ashe.

Onward,
